Steps taken at each team development stage
Effective teams seem to exhibit a set of common characteristics, characteristics which are associated with a mature team and effective team working. These characteristics can be referred to as the building blocks, to be used in a team building. These building blocks (that underpin our approach to team development) are as follows:

Many times a team member will resist working in a team, or continually disrupt the group. Methods for handling these behaviors are included in Team Development as well. Rather than working in a majority rule environment, effective teams learn to gain consensus for each decision. Consensus means 100% commitment to the solution by 100% of the group, even though there might not be perfect agreement. Everyone must live with and support the decision.
5. Summary Report. All data gathered in the Planning & Team Development Session is processed into a written Summary Report. This report includes summary of the process and all findings; action items; and recommendations.
Teams go through different stages as they develop. Team leaders need to understand how teams develop. The teams go through four different cycles: Forming, Storming, Norming, and PerformingThe activities provide the vehicles for team members to enjoy a common experience; explore, discuss, and resolve issues that have arisen; and then apply what they have learned to their work. Through incorporating theories from Belbin and Myers Brigs into our outdoor sessions we can begin to develop a deeper understanding of team dynamics amidst our beautiful landscape.At the initiation of the development project, the program manager or managementteam would develop a plan that indicated personnel required from each functionaldepartment to support the development effort.
